Jake Burger Begins Rehab Assignment with Frisco RoughRiders
On August 2, 2025, Texas Rangers first baseman Jake Burger is set to kick off his rehabilitation assignment with the Frisco RoughRiders, facing off against the San Antonio Missions at Riders Field. This marks Burger's second stint with the RoughRiders, having previously played on July 1st where he achieved one hit and a walk while recovering from a left oblique strain.
Before his injury, Burger had a solid performance with the Rangers, hitting .278 with one home run and six RBIs across ten games. Originally drafted 11th overall by the Chicago White Sox in 2017, he has had a notable career with 34 home runs and 80 RBIs in the 2023 season alone. Burger is among several players currently rehabbing with the Frisco team this season. The Frisco RoughRiders, a Double-A affiliate of the Texas Rangers, are known for their commitment to enhancing the fan experience and have seen numerous players transition to Major League Baseball.
